Many ships have perished during Bonaire's long colonial history, most have long disintegrated and only traces remain. This is especially true for the old salt loading sites like Red Slave at the far south end of the island. Here you can explore numerous anchors, left during the centuries long maritime history of the salt trade, on a fascinating deep dive.
